Higgins Beats Selby in Thriller
John Higgins beat Mark Selby by 13 frames to 12 to reach the semi-finals of the snooker World Championships in Sheffield tonight.
It was a tremendous match that ebbed and flowed from one side to the other, full of high breaks and good safety play, but unfortunately the pressure seemed to affect Selby more than his more experienced opponent, and that proved crucial in the end.
Selby had led by 12-11 but Higgins won a scrappy frame to take it to a decider, then made sure of his place in the last four with a break of 75.
